Women who need their substance addiction and femininity considered and explored.
The objective of the rehabilitation is to develop those modes of behaviour of the clients that support them to work actively towards their own objectives and cope with the aid of out-patient care.
The basic period of women’s rehabilitation is six weeks long. If necessary, the period can also be extended according to the client’s needs and objectives. To support a change of lifestyle, women’s rehabilitation offers alternative modes of behaviour as well as mutual peer support for women. The rehabilitation creates a secure setting for openness, trust, joint realisation and personal growth.
A rehabilitation programme is built and planned together with the client. The rehabilitation programme examines clients’ problems from a female perspective in particular. By restoring self-image, self-esteem and female identity, the resources to resolve substance-abuse problems are created. The rehabilitation programme is based on group work, community-based activity and mutual peer support among women. Clients also have the opportunity, if they wish, to participate in rehabilitative work activity.
The community’s weekly programme includes daily community meetings as well as theme groups handling substance addition and the various areas of women’s lives. In addition, clients have the opportunity to take part in acupuncture, relaxation, supervised creative activity, exercise, bright-light therapy, and to use a physioacoustic chair, if desired. In addition to these, women also participate in the manor’s joint events.
As clients’ overall wellbeing improves as rehabilitation progresses, their self-esteem and acceptance also grows. At the end of the rehabilitation, a summary is made of the clients’ rehabilitation period and their follow-up rehabilitation in out-patient care is planned.
