Clients who will benefit mainly from a rehabilitation period based on a rehabilitative work activity method.
The objective of the rehabilitation programme is to develop and maintain clients’ work and social skills. Through rehabilitative work activity, clients’ physical condition is improved and they experience feelings of pleasure and success.
The rehabilitation programme consists of clients’ participation in rehabilitative work activities, supervised by professional staff. This includes planning of working behaviour and division of labour, taking clients’ own and colleagues’ resources and abilities into account, and an assessment of clients’ work and rehabilitation capacity.
The various rehabilitative work activity points include a food centre, garden, basket workshop, technical maintenance, maintaining the area of the centre and its buildings, a green workshop, laundry, cleaning work, a stand-by duty office and the Toverikunta cafeteria.
Joint activities, both in the community and at workpoints, enhance clients’ cooperation skills and raise their self-esteem through successes. Learning to give and receive feedback and to take responsibility develop clients’ resources for life management.
Rehabilitative work activities are supplemented in the community with other methods of social rehabilitation. In addition to rehabilitative work activities, the rehabilitation programme includes participation in community meetings and the manor’s joint events, substance-abuse care and accommodation groups as well as acupuncture.
The functioning and everyday life of Tervalampi Manor is based on work done together by all members of the manor’s community – both clients and staff. With their own work, clients help maintain the community that rehabilitates them.
